12 stunning photos of the US Pacific Coast

We started in San Fran with Portland, Oregon as our destination.

The drive was about 11 hours so we stayed overnight in Crescent City to split the journey, taking the slightly longer but much more scenic route to get the most out of our California road trip.

The coastline was so much prettier than we’d expected. Countless lookout points were placed along the way where we stopped to smell the ocean air, watch coastal birds fly overhead, and admire the impressive rock formations jutting sharply upwards from just beyond the beach.

And the drive itself, wow. The winding highway took us through steep hills, over wide flowing rivers, and between towering Redwood trees in the Redwood National and State Parks, the base of which almost touched the edge of the narrow road.

Redwood National Park was definitely one of the best parts, driving through that winding road beside the redwoods was amazing!

Love the PNW! I always wanted to move to the east coast and get far away from home. Now I know I’ll settle down in the PNW. West coast best coast (:

The drive must’ve been so scenic! I’m moving to the US next year, and would love to do this too and finish off at the beautiful city of Portland.
